Post "How Long Does A Painting Take?"
A Question of Higher Values

"How long does a painting take?"

In asking this question, ... do you mean how many focused hours of actual hands-on time?

Do you mean how many months over which those focused hours accumulated?

Do you mean how many years over which learning occured to prepare for those months?

Do you mean how many decades over which a life was lived to prepare for those specific hours of creation?

Do you mean eras of history required to create the civilization that spawned the painter who spawned the painting?

Do you mean eons of geological time required to evolve sentient life that could express itself specifically in the hands of that one painter?

Do you mean cosmic time scales required to transform dust to turnips to Earth to life to civilization to an era of a painter's hours in one unique relic?

Do you mean eternity of timeless continuity required to reach one exact apex of expression?

As you can see, an original painting takes an eternity.

Post awesome
Thanks for that, it is very thought provoking. I think that the talents and effort of artists is undervalued

Post Value of Life
Even more, artnotice, the value of a deep, independent, creative LIFESTYLE is undervalued ... to the point that infrastructure, economics, and social customs do NOT support it widely ... in an era that could.
